Can i rent out my primary residence while im in Iraq but still claim it as my primary residence for taxes?

Im going to be spending a year in Iraq, can I rent my house, which is my primary residence, while I gone and still claim it as my as my primary residence. the reason I'm concerned is because of the home buyers credit i got. its not like iraq is going to be my residence while im there.
