Care packages to soldier going to either be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan?

My fiance is supposed to ship out with his unit soon for either Iraq or Afghanistan. I know he enjoyed getting mail and pictures in basic but I was wondering what are some good things to send to him when he's overseas and what are some things banned or not so good to send? I thought about buying him an ipod nano since he doesn't have an ipod or cd player and we both love music. Are they allowed to have those? And what about baked goods?
