Joining the military now?

I'm considering joining the military at the moment. Specificaly the air force, because I have a friend who loves it. I want to know what the chances are of deployment to iraq or afghanistan within the next year? I'm not scared to go to war, I just want to know so I can motivate myself and be more prepared. I don't want to randomly find out, I would like to know ahead of time. At least a percentage chance. I'm wondering if they are still deploying after osamas death.?
