I can't speak for most of those things, but.....wearing an eagle feather bonnet if you haven't earned it is disrespectful and offensive. Eagle feathers are sacred to us, and awarded on merit. Each one represents an act of courage or sacrifice. The right to wear such a bonnet is only bestowed on someone after a long period of proving themselves. To wear it as a fashion accessory, or a costume, is to make fun of something we hold very sacred and honorable. We're kind of used to people not understanding our culture and heritage, but it is still very distasteful. You can wear moccasins all you like. they're simply shoes, nothing special about that. But people who flaunt eagle feathers, who haven't been awarded them....well, it would kind of be like me wearing a copy of the congressional medal of honor, because I thought it was a pretty design. Absolutely, I'm in Tunisia as we speak for school anyway and there is not all that much going on. The "political unrest" that people talk about is far blown out of proportion, the most strife i have seen are political debates taking place in the cafes (always nonviolent, but sometimes heated). I will say there are a few protests now and again in downtown Tunis, but it doesn't last long, the people march down Bourgiba Ave then disperse and go on with their days. There is a bit more conflict in the southern inland areas and obviously on the Libyan border, but as long as you stick to tourist destinations you will have a blast and enjoy your time thoroughly. Sousse is a truly a delight, make sure you go to the souk there and hit up the fort that is next to it. If i can make a suggestion, eat as much Hareesa as you can. The stuff is absolutely wonderful.

Tunisia has been mess since the revolution and things do not look the least bit promising . That's a question only he can answer. I knew a guy that completely broke down after he found out his wife cheated on him, he had to seek psychiatric help and everything. Any number of things could have happened to him that would change him, including but not limited to what he may have experienced in Afghanistan or Iraq (although those are the two most likely cases of his apparent personality change, don't automatically assume that they are the cases). There are a lot of sources for vets that might have PTSD or just need help in general. If he looks like he needs help, be a friend and get him help.

This girl who works in the airport told me a similar thing that happened to her. She is black Arab and wears hijab , and 2 African guys who got off a flight came up to her and started hitting on her , and they wouldn't leave her alone asking her for a date, so she finally had to call security to get rid of them. I don't know if they just assume just because she is black they can go after her , or is this from some cultural thing in African countries. He now wants to change my babys name and add his name on the birth certificate. He won't even let me see her and he is rubbing it in my face that he has her and I really hate him for it. We're Egyptian Muslims and we have a villa in Menorca and we just recently decided to start actually spending some time there in the Summer. I'm asking this question because last time we went, which was last Summer, people weren't that friendly, especially at the airport. The security there would give us weird looks and would pay more attention to our family than the other passengers. The shop keepers in the actual island were VERY friendly but most people in Mahon for example would give my mom, who wears the hijab dirty looks but they wouldn't look at my sister who wasn't wearing the hijab at all. Does anyone else have a really awkward family situation? See I became a Muslim like a year ago but I still live with my parents and it’s just really awkward when we’re all out together because I wear hijab and fully cover myself but my mom wears shorts and tank tops so people are constantly staring at us and seem surprised when I call her mom. It’s the same with my step dad because we’re two completely different skin tones and simply look nothing alike. At least my mom and I look like each other in the face. It's actually not normal. Devout Christians don't wear skimpy things. Bikinis are skimpy. They prefer to be covered and many cover their hair in a church. There are many quite respectable and modest Christian requirements that the masses have forgotten about.
